Insured Activities

Standard Holiday Activities

Our Holiday Insurance includes cover for the following activities automatically, provided these are not the main purpose of your trip. You must choose our Sports and Activities option if any sport or activity is to be the main focus, or a significant proportion, of a trip (i.e. greater than 50%).

IF YOU ARE TAKING PART IN AN ORGANISED SPORTS TRIP OR TOUR YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO BUY THIS POLICY.
IF YOU ARE TAKING PART IN WINTER SPORTS, YOU MUST CHOOSE THE SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES OPTION AND PAY THE ADDITIONAL PREMIUM TO BE COVERED.

If you are planning to do any sports and activities not listed as Standard Holiday Activities, you can insure the sports and activities listed under Sports and Activities by selecting the Sports and Activities option when you buy.

If an activity is not listed below, then this insurance WILL NOT COVER that activity.

The activities in bold in both lists must be organised or provided by a recognised official provider.

Please note the following important conditions always apply:-

  • You must not undertake any activity if your GP or other medical specialist would advise against it, or your state of fitness and health would make such an activity unwise.
  • No sports or activities are covered in a professional capacity, or if you are receiving any financial reward or gain.
  • No sports or activities are covered if you are competing in or practising for speed or time trials, sprints or racing of any kind.
  • You must wear the recommended/recognised Safety Equipment for each listed activity.
  • You must follow any safety procedures, rules and regulations that the company providing your activity operates or which are recommended by any governing body or authority for that activity.
  • Cover for Search and Rescue costs is recommended for some activities (e.g. hiking, yachting outside territorial waters). ACE provides a benefit of £ 5,000, but recommends that you check that this limit is enough for you.

We have categorised the activities by risk and indicated the Medical Excess that would apply in each case.

We have used Asterisks to indicate for all categories below where for a specific activity, a particular cover is not offered under this policy. These are as follows:-

    * = Excludes Personal Accident Cover
** = Excludes Personal Liability Cover
*** = Excludes both Personal Accident Cover and Personal Liability Cover
